Apple Tree COVID-19 Update

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

Due to COVID-19, Apple Tree will be spacing out prenatal appointments to follow the WHO essential prenatal visit guidelines. All appointments less than 20 weeks will be done via tele/video-conference. Our office will call you to organize accordingly.

The IUD clinic will be operating at reduced capacity and the Connecting Pregnancy prenatal classes will be running online through Zoom. Breastfeeding groups are cancelled. Judith Fearing and Jocelyn Bouchard, our lactation consultants, will still be available for individual/home visits. Our mental health workers, Becca and Tara, are available for tele/video-conference. Please ask us to arrange a mental health consult during these anxious times.

Births at Kootenay Lake Hospital will continue as normal. The shared kitchen areas will no longer be used, so everyone needs to bring coolers and kitchen utensils while they are at the hospital. We ask you to limit the number of support people in the labour space to 1-2 people and limit postpartum visitors.

Thanks for everyone’s understanding in keeping the community safe and healthy.
